Bracelet with Turquoise Stones – Syria / Palestine – Handiwork of a Jewish Silversmith
Bracelet with turquoise stones. Syria-Palestine (Bethlehem?), [early 20th century].
Silver, silver thread and filigree; turquoise stones; silver chain and disks.
Elegant bracelet, adorned with six convex, dome-shaped decorations. Six minute turquoise stones inlaid on either side of clasp and on either side of hinge. Clasp pin connected to end of bracelet by two chains with disks that serve as bells.
Bracelets of this type were created by Jewish silversmith active in the early 20th century in Deir ez-Zur, Syria.
