Torah Finials – Jerusalem – Bukharan-Jewish Community

Pair of Torah finials. Jerusalem, Bukharan-Jewish community, [first half of 20th century].
Silver, cast, turned, and engraved.
Pear-shaped Torah finials, in Persian style. Conical head, surmounted by hexagonal ornament. Body decorated with vegetal patterns. Cylindrical shaft with spherical ornament at top. Chains with bells. Hebrew dedicatory inscription (with minor differences between finials) engraved onto finial bodies and shafts: "[…] dedicated by […] Behorah Sarah […] toward the elevation of the soul of her […] son […] Eliyahu […] to the Holy Community of Bukhara … in the Holy City of Jerusalem".
