Three Pieces of Ethnic Jewelry – Central Asia – Bukhara and Pakistan
Three pieces of ethnic jewelry. Central Asia, [late 19th or early 20th century].
Silver, silver thread and granulation; gemstones; glass beads.
1. [Bukhara, Uzbekistan]. Very large bracelet, inlaid with gemstones and large glass beads, decorated in silver thread and granulation. 9.5X2.5 cm.
2. [Bukhara, Uzbekistan]. Forehead ornament or necklace, consisting of minute beads made in granulation, droplet-like pendants ("boteh" or paisleys), star-and-crescent pendants, coral beads, and more. Approx. 30X4.
3. [Pakistan]. Very large neck ring, inlaid with gemstones (one broken). 17X3 cm.
