Two Head Ornaments / Necklaces – Kurdistan-Iraq

Two large head ornaments or necklaces. Kurdistan / Iraq, [first half of 20th century].
Silver (gilt), filigree; glass and plastic; cut sheet brass.
1. Triangular central pendant flanked by two smaller triangular pendants, all with silver thread work. Three pendants connected by four chains, with thin, cut droplet ("boteh" or paisley) shaped ornaments suspended from them. Approx. 60X11 cm.
2. Chain composed of flower-shaped links, with each link consisting of four small rings. Suspended from chains are three pendants in the form of stylized, three-dimensional half-moons (or baskets), open in their upper parts, with three bells dangling from each pendant; and four pendants inlaid with red glass beads with star-and-crescent symbols. 70X5 cm.
