Single Wooden Torah Finial – Libya
Torah finial (one of a pair). Libya, [19th century / early 20th century].
Wood; turned, carved, and painted.
Wide, cylindrical body. Recesses, carved to look like arched windows. Surmounted by conical ornament (broken). Partly coated with thick layer of paint in shades of gold, copper, and green.
Height: 36 cm. Good-fair condition. Few fractures and blemishes. Considerable loss to paint. Cracks.
