20 postcards issued by, or depicting the activities of, orphanages, schools and educational institutions, hospitals and other institutions, Palestine, 1888 to 1930s/1940s.
Including: postcards depicting activities of various institutions, most of them Christian, in Nablus, Ramallah, Bethlehem, Jerusalem, Nazareth, Safed and Gaza; a postcard handwritten by Johann Ludwig Schneller, the founder of the Syrian Orphanage in Jerusalem (known as the Schneller Orphanage), sent from Jerusalem to Australia in 1888.
Good overall condition. Stains on several postcards.
